Lal was started his career in Latex rubber products manufacturing industry (in Swedesh owned Swedlanka Industries & local Lalan Group) in the capacity of  Senior Executive. He was in Trelleborg Group (an European Multinational Company) as the Manager – Research & Development in Sri Lanka factory. Also, Lal worked as R&D Specialist & Tire Design Engineer in Associated Motorways factory in Sri Lanka (an Alfutain Group of Company in Middle east). He worked as Senior Manager – Production in a company collaborated with Australia The Wheelworks Pvt Ltd in Colombo. Lal was last associated as Senior Manager – Operations in Express & Target Environmental Services Pvt Ltd and Smart Janitors Pvt Ltd in Colombo which are providing environmental services in Sri Lanka.

Sam worked in Sri Lanka as a senior Government Officer at the Ministry of Labour. Also he worked as the Director in Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka. He is an Entrepreneur and a Dual Citizen of New Zealand & Sri Lanka. Sam is the Founder of Total Plan Cleaning Services Pvt Ltd in New Zealand which was started in the year of 2004 and now a leading facility management services company in New Zealand. He is fluent in Sinhalese, English and Japanese languages.
